Thursday night is set to be special for cricket fans around the world. For the first time this season, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will cross paths in IPL 2024. The two teams have played some woeful cricket so far but will be hoping to fight it out at the Wankhede Stadium.
Mumbai Indians (MI) began the season with three successive losses before winning against Delhi Capitals. If it wasn’t for the last over heroics of Romario Shepherd, the MI team were in huge trouble. The bowling especially the spin department still remains a concern with Piyush Chawla’s performance going from bad to worse.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have played five games this season and lost four of them. Virat Kohli has been the shining light with the bat but just like Mumbai, even RCB bowlers have been struggling for form. One more loss in this season of the IPL could spell trouble for Faf Dun Plessis and his team.

Player Picks
Rohit Sharma MI | BAT
The former Mumbai Indians skipper was at this aggressive best against Delhi Capitals. It was his 49 runs with the bat that helped Mumbai Indians get an early advantage. If Rohit Sharma can keep the same form going then the MI faithfuls will be in for a huge day.
Virat Kohli RCB | BAT
Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans have been delighted with the form shown by Virat Kohli. The 35-year-old is in good form having just scored a century in the game against Rajasthan Royals. Virat Kohli loves batting at the Wankhede Stadium and he would like to continue his love affair with ground and look to score big yet again.
Jasprit Bumrah MI | BOWL
Jasprit Bumrah has been the best pacer for Mumbai Indians this year. The 30-year-old sent Prithvi Shaw’s leg-stump packing just when the young batter was starting to look dangerous. It was against RCB that Jasprit Bumrah made his debut as a 19-year-old now over a decade later he could be the bowler who could send RCB packing out of IPL 2024.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Piyush Chawla
MI | ALL
Mumbai Indians spinner Piyush Chawla has seen his confidence and form take a huge nosedive. From capturing over 20 wickets last season to becoming the most expensive bowlers in the last few games, Chawla has seen it all. One more bad performance and we could very well see the curtains drawn for Piyush Chawla this season.
Karn Sharma
RCB | BOWL
Yet another veteran leg-spinner who has done well in the IPL. Karn Sharma could be preferred in place of Himanshu Sharma to give RCB the much needed potency in the middle-overs. The 36-year-ild though hasn’t played much this season and throwing him into the Wankhede cauldron could be a huge mistake from the RCB team management.
