Meerut Mavericks will lock horns with Lucknow Falcons in the 2nd Semifinal match of the Uttar Pradesh T20 2023 at the Green Park in Kanpur on September 15. Meerut Mavericks have played ten matches where they have won seven and finished the league stage at the top of the table. Lucknow Falcons, on the other hand, have won four of their ten games and finished in fourth place.

These teams had squared off against each other in their last encounter at the same venue where Meerut Mavericks had won the toss and elected to bat. The Mavericks lost a wicket early, in the second over of the game, but they did not seem to flinch about it as they went all guns blazing from the very next ball. They amassed 74 runs in the next four overs, forming a solid base for the batters to come. They lost quite a few wickets in the process but were able to put up a strong total of 193 runs.

The Falcons needed to start strong if they wanted to chase this total down, and they did try that. In the first two overs, they had smashed 26 runs, but then they lost a wicket which opened the floodgates for them. They were not able to form substantial partnerships and kept losing wickets one after the other. Soon enough, they were bowled out for a total of 102 runs and lost the match by a huge margin of 92 runs. They would be looking forward to changing the results this time around and in an important game.
