Northern Superchargers Women (NOS-W) will lock horns with Manchester Originals Women (MNR-W) in the 18th match of the Hundred Women’s Competiton 2023 at the Headingley in Leeds on August 13. Northern Superchargers have won three of their four matches and are third in the table. Manchester Originals, on the other hand, have won just one of their four matches and are fourth in the rankings.
Northern Superchargers Women had squared off against Oval Invincibles Women in their last encounter where the toss was won by the Superchargers and they elected to bat. Losing their first wicket on duck, they did not start well but the middle order did not let the play be ruined for them as they scored at a rapid pace and took their team to a good total of 143. In reply, Invincibles started rather well although were a little slow. They did try to pick up pace towards the end but it proved to be a little too late as they fell short of the total by 14 runs and lost the match.
Manchester Originals Women had played against Oval Invincibles Women in their last match where Originals had won the toss and elected to bowl. Being put to bat, Invincibles started really slow and had scored only 43 runs by the midway. However, their middle order did pick up some pace and finished with 128 runs on the board. Originals did not start too well either and were slow as well. To make things worse, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and so their trial of increasing the pace of the innings could also not work in their favour. They lost the match by five runs.
