Northern Superchargers Women (NOS-W) will lock horns with Welsh Fire Women ( WEF-W) in the Eliminator match of The Hundred Women’s Competiton 2023 at the Kennington Oval in London on August 26. Northern Superchargers Women have won six of their eight games and were second in the table. On the other hand, Welsh Fire Women won five out of eight matches and finished in the third position.
They played their last game against each other at the Headingley in Leeds, where Superchargers had won the toss and elected to bat. Choosing to bat, they made quite a cautious start but did not let any loose deliveries away. After an opening stand of 44 runs, they had another brilliant partnership for the second wicket. The top order looked good and scored most of the runs for them. The middle-order batters that followed could not continue in the same manner, so they could only score 144 runs after having a good start.
Welsh Fire, in reply, had a horrible start to the chase as they lost two wickets without scoring any runs. Soon, they lost another wicket, which pushed them further back in the match. The fourth wicket partnership between Sophia Dunkley and Laura Harris was something to appreciate in their innings and brought them somewhat back on track. The batters later could not follow the lead, which put them right back where they started. By the end of the innings, they could only score 128 runs and lost the match by 16 runs.
