New York Strikers and Deccan Gladiators will face each other in the first match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2023 on Tuesday (November 28) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The Strikers finished in first place last season with six wins in seven games. They lost the final to Deccan Gladiators by 37 runs. Gladiators, the defending champions, won four out of seven matches last season and finished in fourth position.

Strikers made their debut last season and finished as the runner-up. Kieron Pollard will lead the side this year as well. Carl Crowe and Albie Morkel have also been retained as the head coach and bowling coach, respectively. The Strikers have built a squad comprising a blend of experience and youth. T20 powerhouses like Sohaib Malik and Sunil Narine are also a part of the Strikers this season. Muhammad Waseem and Akeal Hosein, who represented the team last season, are also a part of the squad this year.

Nicholas Pooran will lead the Deccan Gladiators again this year. They have retained six other players from the winning squad, including the likes of David Wiese and Andre Russell. The inclusion of Trent Boult has made their bowling attack stronger. Imad Wasim, who announced his retirement from international cricket last week, is also a part of the squad.
