New Zealand will take on Pakistan in the first T20I match of the Pakistan tour of New Zealand. This match will be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. The tour comprises of five T20 Internationals (T20Is), followed by three One Day Internationals (ODIs), scheduled to take place from March 16 to April 5.

Pakistan have named Salman Ali Agha as the captain for this series with both seniors Babar and Rizwan being left out. The squad for the tour includes young talents Abdul Samad and Hassan Nawaz, both of whom have been selected for the national team for the first time. On the other hand, New Zealand has included seven players from their Champions Trophy finalist squad for the series. All-rounder Michael Bracewell has been named as the team's captain.

The last T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand took place in April 2024 and the five-match series ended in a 2-2 draw, with both teams winning two games each. This promises to be a thrilling match between these two sides.
