New Zealand (NZ) will be hosting Sri Lanka (SL) in the second Test match at Wellington's Basin Reserve starting on March 17. The Kiwis won the first Test by two wickets on the innings' final delivery to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series at home. Kusal Mendis' 87 off 83 helped the travelling side score a big total in their first innings. Kiwi skipper Tim Southee took five wickets, and Matt Henry shone with four to bowl out Sri Lanka on 355 runs.

New Zealand scored 373 runs in their first innings, with Daryl Mitchell top-scoring with 102 runs. The veteran batter Angelo Matthews scored 115 runs in Sri Lanka's second innings. But Blair Tickner's four wickets and Matt Henry's three bowled out Sri Lanka on just 302 runs. New Zealand batters struggled in their second innings, but an unbeaten century from Kane Williamson and Daryl's 81 off 86 helped the Black Caps to secure a two-wicket win on the innings' last delivery.
