New Zealand women (NZ W) will be up against England women (ENG W) in the last of the five T20Is. England's tour of New Zealand is coming towards an end as the T20I series is approaching towards the end. The series has witnessed some one-sided matches and close matches. Both the teams have put in good performances. England women have already won the series with a game to spare. The key for New Zealand women would be to claim a win in the last match.

In the 4th T20I, New Zealand women had to win the game. However, they could not achieve the win and ended up handing an unassailable lead of 3-1 to the visiting side. The fifth T20I is set to take place on the 29th of March 2024 at 5:30 AM (IST) at Basin Reserve in Wellington. All the eyes will be on the home side to see if they can end the series on a good note. England women have been highly impressive having won the series, which was the motive to play.

England women won the first two matches of the series and put pressure on the home side to win their last three games. While New Zealand Women packed a punch on the visiting side in the third match, they lost the fourth match by a fair margin. Both the teams would be looking forward to the dead rubber, as it provides an opportunity for the players to express themselves without worrying about the results. That promises to be a good match between the two sides.

Pitch Report

The match is set to take place at Basin Reserve in Wellington. The wicket is known to be on the slower side in the women's games. However, given the smaller boundaries, the batters can still manage to hit boundaries. The key for the bowlers would be to operate in right lengths. It will be a good batting surface and the bowlers need to restrict the batters for a decent total. Batting first would be the best option.

C

Bernadine Bezuidenhout NZ-W | WK

Bernadine Bezuidenhout has been good with the gloves. In addition to it, she has added some crucial runs on the board. Facing some of the best bowlers in the world, Bernadine has tried her best to bring value to the side.

9

Amelia Kerr NZ-W | ALL

Amelia Kerr has been handy as a bowler and played a good role as a batter. With the bat, she has scored 109 runs in three innings at a batting average of 54.5. With the ball, she has claimed 3 wickets and has been useful for the home side.

7.5

Amy Jones ENG-W | WK

Amy Jones has been good with the gloves. While the concern on her batting is genuine, she can come good in the 5th T20I where there would not be much pressure. The key for her would be to bat without any fear.

8.5

Rosemary Mair NZ-W | BOWL

Rosemary Mair has a lot to offer at a young age. In the ongoing series, the youngster has claimed 3wickets in the 4 matches so far at a good economy rate of 7.62. She has a lot to improve in the upcoming matches.

8.5

Fran Jonas NZ-W | BOWL

Fran Jonas has been economical, much like Mair. She has been able to claim wickets in some of the matches. In 4 appearances, she has been able to claim 3 wickets at an economy rate of just 7.06.

9

Maddy Green

NZ-W | BAT

Maddy Green is a good player. However, it is not wise to take her in the team, as she has not performed well. In the 4 matches so far, she has scored just 32 runs at an average of 10.66 and a strike rate of 66.66.

8.5

Lea Tahuhu

NZ-W | ALL

Lea Tahuhu was out of action for a long time. It was visible in the way she bowled in the three matches where she averaged 37 with the ball and had a poor economy of 9.25, which was one of the main reasons behind NZ losing many matches.
