Central Hinds Women had played against Auckland Aces Women in their last encounter where Central Hinds Women won the toss and elected to bat. They had a brilliant start as they had an opening stand of 83 runs from 11 overs, making it a good stage to build on. However, they could not build on it as they would have liked to as they lost too many wickets quickly. They were still able to post 146 runs on board. After losing a wicket early, Auckland did have a good partnership for the second wicket but was not able to replicate that later. As a result, they lost the game by 18 runs.
