Pakistan (PAK) will be up against New Zealand (NZ) in the 2nd T20I of the ongoing series. New Zealand is on a tour of Pakistan for a series of 5 T20Is which acts as a preparatory assignment for both teams ahead of the T20 WC 2024. The match is set to take place on the 20th of April 2024 at 8:00 PM (IST) at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. It is the same venue where the first match between the two teams took place. Unfortunately, the match did not have any results due to the interruption of rain.
The weather for the second T20I is not any better as overcast clouds are predicted during the match. However, the teams would be hoping to start the series on a good note. In the first T20I, only two balls were bowled. Shaheen Afridi dismissed Robinson in the second ball before the play was called off. Both teams have some of the talented players in their lineup. However, Pakistan must start as the favorites as they have a full-strength squad on display. New Zealand is playing under the captaincy of James Neesham.
Some of the best Kiwi players are not taking part in the series, as they are a part of the IPL 2024. The likes of Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner, Lockie Ferguson, and Matt Henry are a part of the IPL 2024. Pakistan has all its star players available. The likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and many others will be in action. Many of them are on the back of good performances in the PSL 2024.

Player Picks
Mohammad Rizwan PAK | WK
Mohammad Rizwan is one of the most consistent batters in terms of scoring runs. In T20 cricket, he can bat longer so that other batters can bat around him. The star player can keep wickets, inflict stumping, and take stunning grabs.
Shaheen Afridi PAK | BOWL
Shaheen Afridi is one of the bets bowlers in the world. As he was named the skipper for the series against New Zealand, the star bowler did not bowl as well as he would have liked. Now that he is not a captain, Afridi can concentrate on his bowling.
Michael Bracewell NZ | BAT
Michael Bracewell is a tailor-made player for conditions like Pakistan. He can bat lower down the order and play impactful cameos. If required, he can anchor the innings too. With the ball, he can deliver good spells and take wickets.
Babar Azam PAK | BAT
Babar Azam is one of the best batters in the world. Much like Mohammad Rizwan, he can bat deep and allow other batters to bat around him. If he gets going, bowlers will find it difficult to dismiss him. He is back as the skipper of Pakistan.
Iftikhar Ahmed PAK | ALL
Iftikhar Ahmed can contribute both with the bat and with the ball. The star player is handy with his off-spin and can deliver 3-4 overs regularly. With the bat, he can provide impetus to the innings of Pakistan with his timely finishing.
Mark Chapman NZ | ALL
Mark Chapman was the best batter of the series when New Zealand toured Pakistan for a T20I series in 2023. The Southpaw batted well in slow conditions and helped his side to post good totals on the board. He can be good in the current tour.
Josh Clarkson NZ | ALL
John Clarkson is a talented player. The emerging player can have a breakthrough in the ongoing series with his performances. He is handy both with the bat and with the ball. The Kiwi player can come lower down the order and play cameos.
Dean Foxcroft NZ | ALL
Much like Clarkson, Dean Foxcroft is good as an All-rounder. He can be aggressive with the bat and play impactful cameos. With the ball, he can be economical and operate in accurate line and length. the emerging player is difficult to hit.
Ben Sears NZ | BOWL
Bean Sears is one of the most talented pacers in the world. The youngster can swing the ball away from the right-handers at a good pace. Given the overcast conditions in Rawalpindi, he can be the main pacer for the visiting side to claim wickets.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Mohammad Amir
PAK | BOWL
Mohammad Amir has returned to international cricket after 4 long years. The left-arm pacer did well in the PSL 2024 as a bowler. However, given his time away from cricket, it is slightly risky to have him in the side and expect to deliver straightaway.
Tim Robinson
NZ | BAT
Tim Robinson is a bit vulnerable against the moving ball. The opener was dismissed in the second ball of the innings by Shaheen Afridi in the first T20I. Given the overcast conditions, it is risky to have him in the side given the potent home attack.
Finn Allen
NZ | BAT
Finn Allen did not play the first T20I. He is unlikely to play the second T20I either. The star batter is not that good on slow tracks against spin. Even against swing, he has troubled at times to get going. Hence, it is wise to leave him out.
