Preview
Two debutants who began their campaign with a loss will face each other in the 9th game of the Group C match of T20 World Cup 2024. Papua New Guinea and Uganda got their first taste of top-level international cricket when they took on West Indies and Afghanistan in their opening matches, respectively.
Papua New Guinea (PNG) were largely impressive as they had hosts West Indies in a tight spot in their game. Assad Vala and his bowlers and fielders put up a spirited fight but sadly went down to the former two-time T20 World Cup winners.
Uganda (UGA) had a forgettable debut as they were easily beaten by a far superior Afghanistan side. Brian Masaba will hope that his batters can put up a better show after their capitulation to Fazalhaq Farooqi.

Player Picks
Sese Bau PNG | BAT
The 31-year-old batter scripted history when he became the first ever PNG batter to score a fifty in an ICC tournament. PNG will hope Bau can come up with the goods once again and help win his team their first points of the campaign.
Cosmas Kyewuta UGA | BOWL
The 22-year-old was the best bowler for Uganda with 2/25 from his four overs. The tall pacer also has the ability to bowl at over 140KPH and also a deceptive slower ball that can fox the best batters in the business.
Assad Vala PNG | ALL
PNG skipper Assad Vala was one of the few bright spots in their debut game versus West Indies. The veteran scored 21 with the bat and picked two wickets to show his immense value to the side.
Brian Masaba UGA | BAT
Uganda skipper may have scored a duck with the bat but his bowling was one of the reasons why his side could prevent Afghanistan from scoring 200 runs. If Brian Masaba can contribute with the bat, Uganda will be a happy team with potentially their first win of the tournament.
Kiplin Doriga PNG | WK
PNG wicketkeeper Kiplin Doriga scored an important 27 not out from 18 balls to give his team the much needed impetus to finish their innings on a high. His batting will hold the key in Guyana against a disciplined Uganda bowling unit.
Alpesh Ramjani UGA | ALL
All-rounder Alpesh Ramjani had a bad game against Afghanistan but with the class he has with the bat and ball one can expect him to perform a quick turnaround.

Lega Siaka
PNG | BAT
Considered one of the safest PNG batters, Siaka and his form in T20 format will leave his team worried. PNG will hope Siaka can show his class and start to contribute with the bat once again.
Bilal Hassan
UGA | BOWL
Pakistan born Bilal Hassan was clattered across the park where he gave away 34 runs from his two overs. The veteran pacer needs to up his game or his journey in the T20 World Cup in the Uganda playing XI will be a short one.
