Rajasthan and Karnataka will face each other in the second semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 on Thursday (December 14) at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium C in Rajkot. Rajasthan finished in first place in Group D with six wins in six matches. Karnataka were in second position in Group C’s points tally and won six out of seven matches.
Rajasthan had a dominant win over Kerala in their last game, which was the second quarter-final of the tournament. Rajasthan posted a total of 267 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs with the help of a century from Mahipal Lomror. Lomror scored 122 runs off 114 deliveries and remained unbeaten. Kunal Singh Rathore made 66 runs off 52 deliveries. Kerala were bundled out for 67 runs and lost the match by 200 runs. Aniket Choudhary took four wickets for 26 runs in seven overs and was the most successful bowler for Rajasthan. Arafat Khan picked three wickets, and Khaleel Ahmed took two wickets.
Karnataka defeated Vidarbha in their quarter-final game by seven wickets after chasing down the target of 174 runs in 40.3 overs. Vijaykumar Vyshak took four wickets for 44 runs in 8.5 overs. Ravikumar Samarth was the highest scorer for the team and made 72 runs off 113 deliveries.
