Rwanda will lock horns with Uganda in the 6th match of the Africa Continental Cup 2023 at the Gymkhana Club Ground in Nairobi on June 11. Rwanda have played two matches where they are yet to win any and are languishing at the bottom of the table. Uganda, on the other hand, have won four from their six matches and are at the second position.
Rwanda had played against Botswana in their last encounter where Botswana won the toss and elected to bat. Choosing to bat, they made the most of it as they had an opening partnership of 112 runs. Karabo Motlhanka played a captain’s knock as he scored a brilliant 75 and remained unbeaten. They posted a strong total of 169 runs at the loss of just two wickets on the board. Rwanda started off their chase well with an opening partnership of 40 runs. But once they started losing wickets, they lost them in a bunch. They could not even complete their quota of 20 overs and were bundled out at the score of 136. Botswana won the match easily by a good margin of 33 runs.
Uganda had squared off against Kenya in their last match where Kenya won the toss and elected to bat. They started brilliantly as they had an opening partnership of 80 runs from 10 overs. Third wicket partnership between Collins Obuya and Rakep Patel proved to be crucial as they added 85 runs in just seven overs. They both scored their respective fifties which helped Kenya post a huge total of 185 runs at the expense of three wickets. Uganda lost a wicket early but had a good second wicket partnership to help them. After the fall of the second wicket, it was like a house of cards as they were bowled out for a mere score of 97 runs. Kenya won the match by a huge margin of 88 runs.
