Pitch Report

Achimota Senior Secondary School A field will be hosting the mega clash between South Africa and Kenya on Monday. It is a bat first pitch as chasing has been difficult as seen during the opening day of the series. Each of the games were won by teams batting first after putting a good total on the board. One expects the skipper winning the toss to have no hesitation in batting first and making use of the good conditions early on.

Rakep Patel KNA | WK

Kenya skipper Rakep Patel showed his class with the bat in an otherwise shambolic batting display by his team. Patel scored 42 runs from 35 balls as Kenya were bowled out for 97 runs. Till he was in the crease Kenya had a great chance and opportunity to chase down the target. Once Rakep Patel fell, Kenya lost their last 6 wickets for just 18 runs to lose the game by 72 runs.

Nelson Odhiambo

KNA | BOWL

Yet another veteran Kenyan who hasn’t been able to do well is none other than Nelson Odhiambo. The 34-year-old scored a duck with the bat and didn’t bowl an over. At one stage when he made his debut Odhiambo was considered one of the best pacers in his national side.
