The two teams are in contention for the final of the World Test Championship, with Sri Lanka currently in third and the Proteas close behind it. Both sides aim to register resounding victories to topple India and Australia, currently leading the charts.
The Lanka Lions have a strong record at Kingsmead in Durban, having never lost any Test match. Coming to the team dynamics, the South African side has marked the return of skipper Temba Bavuma, who has recovered from elbow injuries and is set to lead the side.
