South Africa won the toss in the second game and elected to bowl. West Indies lost the first wicket in the very first over as Brandon King was dismissed for just one run. Kyle Mayers joined Johnson Charles in the middle post this wicket and wreaked havoc on the Proteas bowlers. The duo added 135 runs for the second wicket in just 9.4 overs before Mayers departed for 51 runs off 27 deliveries. Charles scored his maiden century and reached the triple figure in a record number of deliveries for the West Indies. Romario Shepherd provided the late finish as West Indies piled up a total of 258 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Any other team would have probably failed to reach such a mammoth total. But it was South Africa who have already chased the highest target in ODIs and managed to do the same in T20Is as well. Quinton de Kock played an innings on par with Charles and was dismissed just after he reached his maiden century off 43 deliveries. Reeza Hendricks also displayed a superb batting display and scored 68 runs off just 28 balls. Aiden Markram, the skipper of the Proteas, made 38 runs off 21 deliveries and finished the game for the team. South Africa won the game by six wickets in 18.5 overs.
