Samoa Women had played against New Zealand Maori Women in their last match, where Samoa Women had won the toss and elected to bat. They were extremely slow with the bat and lost a wicket early as well. Although they did bat throughout the innings, but were not able to capitalise much as they were only able to put up a meagre total of 74 runs on the board. Maori Women were excellent in return, as they neither got too aggressive nor slouched. They played at their own pace and still won the match comfortably by five wickets with more than half of the innings left.

Vanuatu Women had squared off against Cook Islands Women in their last game, where Cook Islands Women had won the toss and elected to bowl. Being put to bat, Vanuatu Women started decently and lost their first wicket in the third over. However, the second wicket partnership was the turnaround event of the match as they slammed an unbeaten partnership of 160 runs and put up 177 runs on the board. Cook Islands completely faltered in their way to the chase as they kept losing wickets and were not able to score. They lost the match eventually by a huge margin of 120 runs.
