Sri Lanka (SL) will be up against Afghanistan (AFG) in the 1st ODI of the Afghanistan tour of Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on February 9. Both these teams have been in decent form in the recent matches in this format of the game. Sri Lanka have won two of their five games, while Afghanistan have managed to win three.
Sri Lanka had played against Zimbabwe in their last match, where Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat. Due to persistent rain, the match was reduced to 27 overs a side. They started well and had an opening stand of 43 runs but had one of the worst collapses from there as they were bowled out for a petty total of 96. Even though Sri Lanka lost their first wicket at the score of one, this total was never going to be a challenging one for them. They easily cruised to the total and won the game by eight wickets owing to a skipper’s knock by Kusal Mendis.
Afghanistan had squared off against South Africa in their last encounter, where Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat. It was a close contest between both sides as South Africa was only able to squeeze out a victory by a small margin. Omarzai’s knock of 97 helped Afghanistan pump to a total of 244 runs which was a good total for their bowling attack to defend. And South Africa did struggle with this total as they had difficulty rotating strikes. It was the sixth wicket partnership between Rassie and Phehlukwayo which took them over the line and won the game by five wickets.

Player Picks
Wanindu Hasaranga SL | ALL
Hasaranga has been the star all-rounder who has been winning several matches for his nation. It would make sense for him to make the leader of your fantasy side.
Fazalhaq Farooqi AFG | BOWL
Farooqi is coming with red-hot form in the ILT20 where he is the leading wicket-taker. He can be a fantastic pick for captaincy roles keeping in mind his recent form.
Azmatullah Omarzai AFG | ALL
Omarzai is a quality all-rounder for the Afghans. He has scored 490 runs at an average of 44.54 while has picked up 13 wickets as well in 22 ODI games.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Qais Ahmad
AFG | BOWL
Qais has been sent as the replacement for injured Rashid, but he might not get a place in the playing XI. So you should not pick him up as well.
Janith Liyanage
SL | ALL
Janith has not been a decent form in the last few matches. He can be left out of your fantasy team.
