The match was interrupted by rain, due to which it was reduced to 17 overs a side. Afghanistan did not start well and scored at a decent run rate throughout the innings, due to which they were able to put up 116 runs on the board. Bangladesh, on the other hand, started strongly, and their top order had set them up for a good chase. They were able to easily chase down the total and won the match by six wickets (DLS method).
