Preview
Sri Lanka and Ireland will feature in the seventh game of the T20 World Cup Warm-up Matches 2022 on Thursday (October 13) at the Junction Oval in Melbourne. This will be the second game for both teams who experienced varying results in their first one. Sri Lanka defeated Zimbabwe comfortably by 33 runs after posting a total of 188 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Sri Lankan batters dominated all throughout the game with Kusal Mendis being the top scorer.
Ireland, on the other hand, lost their first game against Namibia by a mere margin of 11 runs. The bowlers enjoyed a great day at the office as they managed to restrict Namibia to just 138 runs in 20 overs. Irish batters didn’t put their best feet forward and were all out for 127 runs in 19.5 overs. Paul Stirling and Lorcan Tucker were the only batters who showed some fight, however, apart from them, no other batter managed to score over 20 runs. A total of seven batters were dismissed for a single-digit score out which four were out on a duck. Ireland will be hoping for a far better show from the batters in the matches going forward.

Player Picks
Wanindu Hasaranga SL | ALL
He provided the finishing touch to the Sri Lankan innings in the first game against Zimbabwe. He made 37 runs off just 14 deliveries which included four fours and two sixes. Sri Lanka will be hoping for a similar performance from him in this game.
Kusal Mendis SL | WK
He was the best batter for Sri Lanka in the first game and he continued from where he left in the Asia Cup 2022. Mendis scored 54 runs off just 29 deliveries and provided a solid start to the team. This was his second half-century in the last five outings.
Pathum Nissanka SL | BAT
He made 21 runs off 15 deliveries in the first match and added 57 runs for the first wicket along with Kusal Mendis. He made 173 runs in six innings in the Asia Cup and was the second-highest run-scorer for Sri Lanka in the tournament.
Paul Stirling IRE | BAT
He returned to form for Ireland at the right time in the last game. The right-handed opener made 37 runs off 30 deliveries and also captained the side. This was his first 30+ score in the last eight matches.
Barry McCarthy IRE | BOWL
He bowled four overs for Ireland in the first game against Namibia. He picked the wicket of Divan la Cock and gave away 21 runs in four overs.
Maheesh Theekshana SL | BOWL
He opened the bowling for Sri Lanka along with Dilshan Madushanka. Although Theekshana was a little expensive, he managed to pick up two wickets while giving away 39 runs in four overs.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Jeffrey Vandersay
SL | BOWL
He was rested in the first game and his chances of getting to play this game are very low considering Sri Lanka have three spinners including de Silva.
Charith Asalanka
SL | BAT
The top-order batter failed to get a chance in the first game. Sri Lanka won’t be looking to make any significant changes to their batting order and hence, you can avoid picking him in your fantasy team.
