Sri Lanka (SL) will go head to head against Zimbabwe (ZIM) in the second T20I of the three-match series at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday, January 16.
Moving into the details of the first T20I, Zimbabwe were tasked to bat first after losing the toss. Tinashe Kamunhukamwe (26) looked promising during his stay in the initial overs. In the middle overs, Sikandar Raza smacked 62 off 42 with five fours and two sixes.
Eventually, Zimbabwe posted a decent-looking total of 143/5 in 20 overs. Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga scalped two wickets each for Sri Lanka, while Dushmantha Chameera picked up a wicket.
In the chase, Sri Lanka lost Pathum Nissanka quite early for just two runs. However, Angelo Mathews' experience helped them come out of a tough situation. Mathews went on to score 46 off 38, and he received good support from former skipper Dasun Shanaka, who scored 26* off 18 to steer the side to victory on the last ball of the game.
Captain Sikandar Raza was also impressive with the ball, scalping three wickets after conceding just 13 runs in four overs. Blessing Muzarabani scalped two wickets, while Richard Ngarva and Wellington Masakadza picked up a wicket each.
With this victory, Sri Lanka have taken a 4-0 lead in the head-to-head record against Zimbabwe in T20Is. With the series on line, Zimbabwe would be hitting the drawing board and hoping to turn the tables to level the series 1-1.

Player Picks
Sikandar Raza ZIM | ALL
Sikandar Raza is having an impressive career of late in the shortest format of the game. In the first T20I, he was pretty miser, picking up a three-wicket haul. Moreover, he scored 62 runs off 42 balls with the bat. He's definitely the most valuable player in this game.
Kusal Mendis SL | WK
Kusal Mendis couldn't capitalize on his score of 17 runs in the first T20I. However, he is known for his massive scores in the powerplay and middle overs. He can be a decent vice-captaincy choice in your fantasy XI.
Wanindu Hasaranga SL | ALL
Wanindu Hasaranga scalped nine wickets in two white-ball games since his return to international cricket. Without an iota of doubt, he's one of the safest captaincy choices you can have in your fantasy XI.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Clive Madande
ZIM | WK
Zimbabwe keeper-batter Clive Madande couldn't get his chance to bat as he is batting deep down the order. He can be skipped from your XI for the same reason.
Brian Bennett
ZIM | ALL
Brian Bennett, who batted at no.3 in the Ireland series, is dropped down to sixth position. His performance hasn't been satisfactory so far.
