The first T20I of the three-match T20I Series between Sri Lanka Women and New Zealand Women will be played at P Sara Oval in Colombo. Sri Lanka Women won the three-match ODI Series by 2-1 and will look to kick off T20I Series with a win as well. Sri Lanka Women beat New Zealand Women by eight wickets (DLS Method) in the third ODI and clinched the three-match ODI series by 2-1. It was a rain-affected game, so overs were reduced. The second innings was reduced to 29 overs per side, and Sri Lanka got a target of 196 runs by the DLS Method. Sri Lanka Women lost their first wicket in the very first over in the form of Vishmi Gunaratne as Lea Tahuhu dismissed her for a duck. Even Harshitha Samarawickrama was dismissed on 3(10) by skipper Sophie Devine in the fourth over. Sri Lankan skipper Chamari Athapaththu and Nilakshi De Silva's partnership carried Sri Lanka Women home by eight wickets. Athapaththu scored 140 off 80 balls, while Nilakshi De Silva remained unbeaten on 48 runs off 68 balls. Athapaththu performed brilliantly throughout the series and was also awarded the Player of the Series.
