Salem Spartans will face Trichy Grand Cholas in the 12th match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2024 on Sunday, July 14, at the SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore. The Spartans have won one out of three matches so far and are in second-last position. The Grand Cholas have won and lost one match each and are in third place.

The Grand Cholas defeated Siechem Madurai Panthers in their last outing by 67 runs after posting a total of 193 runs for the loss of two wickets on the board. Wicketkeeper-batter Waseem Ahmed remained unbeaten on 90 runs off 55 deliveries for the Grand Cholas and won the Player of the Match award.

The Spartans lost their previous match against the Nellai Royal Kings. The Royal Kings chased down the target of 142 runs in 18.5 overs with three wickets in hand. ME Yazh Arun Mozhi was the pick of the bowlers for the Spartans and took three wickets for 17 runs in four overs.
