Melbourne Stars (STA) will take on Sydney Sixers (SIX) in the 28th match of the BBL 2024-25. This match will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Melbourne Stars won the previous match over Melbourne Renegades in the derby at the MCG on Saturday. Ben Duckett's half-century set up the chase after the Stars were once reduced to 3/2. They were set a target of 168 by Renegades and the target was chased down with five wickets spare. 

Melbourne Stars are bottom of the table with just two wins in seven matches and will be looking to bounce back and put up some good performances. On the other hand, Sydney Sixers are the table toppers with four wins in six matches and they have been in great form throughout the tournament. Their previous match against Brisbane Heat was abandoned due to rain. 

Sydney Sixers will be boosted witth the return of Steven Smith and they look the stronger side on paper but Melbourne Stars will be playing at home and they have an oppurtunity to string some wins togehterg to keep their hopes alive for the playoffs. This promises to be a thrilling match between these two sides and on paper Sydney Sixers will start as slight favourites but dont rule out the hosts.
