Sydney Thunder (THU) will take on Brisbane Heat (HEA) in the sixth match of the BBL 2023-24 on Tuesday (December 12) at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Heat have won one out of two matches so far, while the other game was abandoned due to rain. Thunder will play their first game of the season.
Thunder won seven out of 14 games last season and finished in fourth place in the points tally. They lost the eliminator game against the Heat by eight runs on the DLS method. Chris Green has retained his place as the captain of the side. Cameron Bancroft, Liam Hatcher, and Zaman Khan have been signed for this season. David Warner will be available for selection after the Test series against Pakistan is over.
Heat’s previous match against Adelaide Strikers was abandoned due to rain. They won the opening game against Melbourne Stars by a significant margin of 103 runs. Heat scored 214 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs with the help of Colin Munro’s knock of 99 runs off 61 deliveries. Mitchell Swepson was the pick of the bowlers for the Heat with three wickets for 23 runs in 3.1 overs. Michael Neser and Xavier Bartlett took two wickets each.
