Thailand defeated Bhutan in the first game by 77 runs after posting a total of 171 runs for the loss of six wickets. Indonesia faced Maldives in their first game and elected to bat after winning the toss. They were bundled out for 95 runs in 19.2 overs. Only four batters managed to make a double-digit score for Indonesia. Maldives made 75 runs for the loss of two wickets in 12 overs before the match was interrupted due to rain. Maldives won the match by 23 runs by the DLS method. Gede Arta and Ferdinando Banunaek took one wicket each for Indonesia.
