Wellington Blaze Women will lock horns with Central Hinds Women in the Final match of the Women’s Super Smash 2023 at Eden Park in Auckland on January 28. Wellington Blaze Women had a fantastic season where they won seven of their 10 league games finishing top of the table and qualifying directly for the finals. Central Hinds Women, on the other hand, won four games finishing third, and played well in the Eliminator to secure their place in the finals.
Wellington Blaze Women squared off against Canterbury Magicians Women in their last match where Canterbury Magicians Women won the toss and elected to bat. Magicians were slow and had a sluggish start having trouble in even rotating the strike. They were slow at first but looked steady but as the fourth wicket fell, it opened the floodgates and they bowled out for just 97. Wellington was in no hurry to chase the total down and went ahead with the chase steadily. They kept finding regular boundaries and won the game by eight wickets with more than six overs to spare.
Central Hinds Women had played against Northern Brave Women in their last encounter where Central Hinds Women won the toss and elected to bat. They did not start well losing the skipper in the first over itself but had a fantastic second-wicket partnership worth 107 runs. Hollie Armitage played a fantastic knock which helped them reach a good total of 151 runs. Brave too started horribly, matching their opponents but lacked good partnerships. They kept losing wickets at regular and never really could get going due to which they lost the game by 45 runs.

Player Picks
Amelia Kerr WB-W | ALL
Amelia has undoubtedly been the MVP of the tournament leading the charts for most runs as well as most wickets. You need not look away for leadership roles in your fantasy team.
Leigh Kasperek WB-W | ALL
Kasperek has bowled beautifully and has picked up as many as 16 scalps in just nine games. She can swing her bat around as well when needed.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Natasha Codyre
WB-W | BOWL
Natasha has had a terrible season so far where she has been able to scalp just one wicket. She should be dropped from your team.
Gemma Sims
CH-W | BAT
Gemma has been able to score just 12 runs so far in the tournament. She should not find a place in your fantasy side.
