Welsh Fire Women (WEF-W) will lock horns with Southern Brave Women (SOB-W) in the 17th match of The Hundred Women’s Competiton 2023 at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on August 12. Welsh Fire have won three of their four games and are at the top of the table. On the other hand, Southern Brave have a similar record and are placed in the second position in the rankings.
Welsh Fire Women had squared off against Birmingham Phoenix Women in their last encounter, where the Phoenix won the toss, and they elected to field. Being put to bat, Welsh Fire did a job and started really well. However, due to the sloppy performances from their middle order, they lost wickets and did not score much, and ended up scoring 137 runs. Phoenix started brilliantly with their chase and were going ahead with the required run rate. The match, although, turned on its head in the last over, where Phoenix lost back-to-back wickets and lost the game by three runs.
Southern Brave Women had played against London Spirit Women in their last match, where Brave had won the toss and decided to field. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 85 balls a side where London Spirit did not start well particularly, but two of their top-order batters looked good, due to which they were able to score 104 runs. Brave did not start too well either, having lost the first wicket on the score of zero. Maia Bouchier played a fantastic inning and remained unbeaten till the end, finishing and winning the game for his team. Southern Brave Women won the match by five wickets.

Georgia Adams SOB-W | BAT
Georgia has been in glorious form this season having scalped ten wickets at just an economy of 5.94 in four matches. Her wicket-taking ability makes her a brilliant choice for captaincy roles.
Smriti Mandhana SOB-W | BAT
Mandhana has been the highest run-scorer of the tournament already with 144 runs in her bank. She has smashed two half-centuries in just four matches and should be the one to lead your team.

Shabnim Ismail WEF-W | BOWL

Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Freya Kemp
SOB-W | BOWL
Freya has played all four matches but has been able to score just seven runs so far. She should not be picked up in your fantasy team.
Kalea Moore
SOB-W |
Moore has played all four matches but has not been able to contribute anything with the bat or ball. She should be dropped from your team.
