West Indies and Ireland will play the penultimate game of Group B of the T20 World Cup 2022 on Friday (October 21) at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. All four teams in Group B have won one game each and the winner of this game will advance to the next stage. West Indies, the two-time champions had a miserable start to the tournament as they lost the first game against Scotland by 42 runs after failing to chase the target of 161 runs. However, they came back strongly in the next game against Zimbabwe and defeated the African country by 31 runs. West Indies made 153 runs for the loss of seven wickets while batting first and restricted Zimbabwe to just 122 runs. Alzarri Joseph played a key role for West Indies with the ball and won the Player of the Match award.
Ireland, on the other hand, lost their opening game against Zimbabwe by 31 runs after giving away 174 runs. However, much like the West Indies, Ireland managed to overpower Scotland in their second game and won the game by six wickets. They chased down the target of 177 runs, the highest-ever successful run-chase in the T20 World Cup for Ireland.

Player Picks
Jason Holder WI | ALL
He was the lone warrior for the West Indies in the first game with the bat and picked two wickets as well. In the last game, the former captain picked three wickets for just 12 runs in his 3.2 overs.
Alzarri Joseph WI | BOWL
He won the Player of the Match award in the last game for his brilliant bowling performance. He picked four wickets in four overs for just 16 runs, which is also his best bowling figure in T20Is now.
Curtis Campher IRE | ALL
He scored the first half-century of his T20I career in the last game and it came at a time when Ireland required it the most. He came out to bat when Ireland had scored only 57 runs in 8.4 overs and then added 119 runs for the fifth wicket along with George Dockrell. Campher scored 72 runs off just 32 deliveries including seven fours and two sixes. He picked up two wickets as well for nine runs in two overs.
Mark Adair IRE | BOWL
He has been one of the best bowlers for Ireland in recent times. He has taken 24 wickets in 22 T20Is this year out of which three have come in this tournament at an average of 20.66. He is just five wickets away from becoming the leading wicket-taker for Ireland in this format.
Johnson Charles WI | WK
He scored 345 runs in nine matches of the CPL 2022 at an average of 43.12 which helped him find a place in the squad for this tournament. Before this year, Charles last played a T20I game for West Indies in 2016. In his first game in the tournament against Zimbabwe, Charles scored 45 runs off 36 deliveries and was the most successful batter for the West Indies.
Joshua Little IRE | BOWL
He is the joint second-highest wicket-taker in T20Is in 2022. He has taken 32 wickets in 21 matches at an average of 18.84. Little is the first Irish bowler to pick more than 30 wickets in a calendar year.
Odean Smith WI | BOWL
The West Indies have underutilized Odean Smith so far in the tournament. He has batted in number ten and nine positions in the first two matches, thus, he has contributed nothing with the bat till now. However, his bowling spell did change the course of the match in the last game. Smith picked the wicket of Sikandar Raza, who won the Player of the Match award in the last game and has been in great form recently.
George Dockrell IRE | ALL
He last bowled his full quota of four overs in a T20I game in July this year and has bowled only six overs in the last ten matches. Dockrell is the leading wicket-taker for Ireland in T20Is with 80 wickets at an average of 21.66. He showcased his batting skills in the last game alongside Campher. Dockrell made 39 runs off 27 deliveries and remained unbeaten.
Lorcan Tucker IRE | WK
The 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batter has been one of the best batters for Ireland this year and he has achieved some personal milestones as well this year. In 22 T20I matches, he has scored 395 runs at a strike rate of 125.39 and this has been the first time he scored over 300 runs in a calendar year.

Paul Stirling
IRE | BAT
He is the second-highest run-scorer for Ireland this year in T20Is. However, the 32-year-old has not been in the best of his form recently as he has failed to score over 20 runs in the last five outings.
Shamarh Brooks
WI | BAT
He replaced Shimron Hetmyer in the West Indies squad for this tournament. However, he has failed to create the same impact as the left-handed batter so far and has scored only four runs in two matches.
