West Indies won the first match by just one run to take a 1-0 lead in this five-match T20I series at home. Kiwi star all-rounder Amelia Kerr took three wickets to and Fran Jonas and Sophie Devine grabbed two each to bowled out hosts on just 115/10 while bowling first. Aaliyah Alleyne scored the highest 49 runs off 37 balls for West Indies but it was very poor performance from other batters.
