Zimbabwe and Namibia will play their second warm-up game before the T20 World Cup 2022 on Thursday (October 13) at the Junction Oval in Melbourne. Zimbabwe lost their first warm-up game against Sri Lanka by 33 runs. Sri Lanka made 188 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs while batting first. Kusal Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga played a key role for Sri Lanka with the bat. Zimbabwe’s bowlers struggled against Sri Lanka right from the word go. They conceded 62 runs in the power play and no bowler bowled more than two overs for the team.
Namibia, on the other hand, won their first warm-up game against Ireland by 11 runs. They made 138 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs with Gerhard Erasmus topping the scoring charts for Namibia. Ireland had a great start with Paul Stirling and Lorcan Tucker both making 30+ scores. However, none of the other batters could get the scoreboard moving after they both were dismissed. Four batters were dismissed for a duck and Ireland were bundled up for 127 runs in 19.5 overs.
