Farmers meet Delhi Daredevils' players
The farmers enjoyed a meet-and-greet with Delhi Daredevils' players.
Farmers are an integral part of the society, if not the most important. They work tirelessly on the farms to produce food and dairy for all the citizens of the country and those who depend on it from other nations as well. Mother Dairy, the sponsor of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Delhi Daredevils (DD), decided to pay them tribute for their extraordinary contribution to the society. They organised a meet-and-greet session for the DD players and the farmers.
The event in detail
Delhi’s skipper and former Indian nation team pacer Zaheer Khan was present at the event, alongside wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, Karun Nair, Shreyas Iyer and New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson. The farmers were dressed in white robes a typical Indian attire. They were wearing blue turbans, which completed their royal look. Zaheer acknowledged the work of farmers while they tried to impress the skipper with their cricketing skills.
Tea was served to the farmers. At the end of the event, a big cricket theme cake was cut in the honour of the hard work put in by farmers day in day out. The farmers shared the cake with the cricketers. Previously, the farmers were seen at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi, supporting their favourite team Delhi Daredevils.
Delhi are out of the competition in the tournament this time as they couldn’t make a place for themselves in the top 4 teams. But the farmers had a time of their life. They thoroughly enjoyed their time with big international stars and entertained the cricketers with their crazy skills. Mother Dairy fulfilled their dream of meeting the players of their favourite team DD. It was a great gesture by the organisers, to honour and respect that section of the society who have a thankless job but do it with utmost diligence at all times.
