4. MATHEW HAYDEN (AUSTRALIA) – 57 INNINGS

Mathew Hayden will probably go down as one of the finest openers Australia has ever produced. The left-handed opening batsman’s big positive is his strength. He is a big unit, he cleared the boundaries with ease. Someone used to joke, boxing ring suited more to Hayden than a cricket field. He is fourth in the list of fastest Aussies to ten hundreds in test cricket. Format was not a cause of concern for Hayden, any format he played all the same. Mathew Hayden is less of technical brilliance and more of physical brilliance. He was a superior presence on the field intimidating most of the modern-day fast bowlers. It took Hayden 57 innings to reach ten test tons mark.
