Fastest Double Hundreds In ODIs: Scoring a double century is slowing become a common occurrence in ODI cricket. The first double century was scored exactly on the same day 24th February, 2010 by Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar against the strong South African side at Gwalior.
Five years after the remarkable achievement by the batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, there have been four double centuries scored. Apart from the extraordinary skills, scoring a double century requires aggressive batting technique and the batsmen seem to have no problem in hitting the bowlers all over the ground.

1. Chris Gayle 215 vs Zimbabwe: 138 Balls
The beefy West Indian opener Chris Gayle became the first non-Indian batman and the fourth batsman overall to score a double century in an ODI fixture. Co-incidentally, Gayle achieved this feat exactly on the same date (24th February 2010) on which Sachin Tendulkar scored the first ODI double century. He has also become the first batsman ever to score a double century in a world cup match. He did it against lowly ranked Zimbabwe in just 138 deliveries and has become the fastest to reach the double hundred. He started slowly but accelerated his innings after completing his century.
