Former India cricketer MS Dhoni is currently in the UAE to feature in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which will commence on September 19. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper announced his international retirement last month on August 15 and now has been training ahead of the cash-rich league. His love for Army and the nation is well known to everyone and it was again on show on Thursday after Rafale jets were formally inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF).
MS Dhoni, an honorary lieutenant colonel in the Territorial Army, has spent time with the Indian Army on several occasions. He was also in J&K for two weeks after the World Cup last year when he was on a sabbatical. He generally doesn’t tweet much from his official handle and has resorted to staying away from social media in last few years.
Rajnath Singh formally inducted Rafale Jets into IAF
However, it seems that the man is coming back to social media slowly. After announcing his retirement on Instagram last month, MS Dhoni has chosen a special occasion to tweet something apart from his retirement. India Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh formally inducted the Rafale Jets into the IAF at Air Force Station in Ambala on Thursday.
The former India skipper was delighted after the induction ceremony took place and took to Twitter to express himself. He stated that India’s best fighter pilots have received the best fighter planes and its lethality will only increase now. He also wished the best for the glorious 17 Squadron.
“With the Final Induction Ceremony the world’s best combat proven 4.5Gen fighter plane gets the world’s best fighter pilots. In the hands of our pilots and the mix of different aircrafts with the IAF the potent bird’s lethality will only increase.
“Wishing The Glorious 17 Squadron(Golden Arrows) all the very best and for all of us hope the Rafale beats the service record of the Mirage 2000 but Su30MKI remains my fav and the boys get new target to dogfight with and wait for BVR engagement till their upgrade to Super Sukhoi,” MS Dhoni wrote in a series of tweets.
