Five batsmen who can break Chris Gayle's record for the fastest hundred in IPL history
The Universe Boss amassed the record back in 2013 against the Pune Warriors.
Jos Buttler
When the English white-ball set up was revamped post World Cup 2015, Jos Buttler was one of the few batsmen who kept his place. In the months to come, the gloveman became one of the vital cogs in their limited-overs setup. Coming in at number six or number seven, Buttler held the capability to add runs at an exceptionally quick rate.
On his promotion to the opening position by the England think-tank in T20 cricket, the 29-year old averaged over 50 in six innings. In the IPL 2018 season, Rajasthan Royals deployed the same tactic after his barren returns in the middle-order. Post his return to the top-order; the Somerset batsman scored a massive 548 runs at an average of nearly 55.
While the swashbuckling right-hander couldn’t feature in all the matches for Rajasthan in the previous season, Buttler can be expected to set the stage on fire again in the upcoming season. His form in the top of the order could reach a whole new level in the forthcoming season and he has the potential to smash the six-year-old record set by Gayle.
