Virat has been going through a tough time in the field with no century since November,2019. He was finding it difficult to connect the ball during the T20I series against England, early this year.
Virat made a comeback in the second T20 international and made an unbeaten 73 off 49 balls to power India to an emphatic seven-wicket win. When he was asked about the change in approach which led to his success in the game, he gave massive credit to AB de Villiers.
He said, “I had to shift the focus back to the basics. And I had a special chat with AB de Villiers before this game and he told me to just watch the ball. So I did,” AB and Virat have played a massive role in identifying each other’s technical shortcomings and helped each other to prosper with utmost perfection.
