The Indian team is all set to tour England this year. The tour is going to be a tough and rigorous one for the Indians. The Indians haven’t had a great time thus far touring England. Even the best of the sides failed to dominate the Englishmen in their home conditions. However, the Indians have got a very balanced side this time and will look to set the records straight. England, on the other hand, will be looking to continue the dominance against India. They will be looking to build the pressure on India and try to win the series. In such a tough series, it is the experienced players from both the sides who will hold the key to both the sides. These players who have played the earlier tours from both the sides will know the conditions and oppositions better. Here are the players from the last tour who are a part of this tour as well: 1. Virat Kohli Virat Kohli of India plays a shot. (Photo Source: Twitter) Virat Kohli has struggled in England in both the previous tours. England is one of the places where he would be craving to perform. The English bowlers have troubled with deliveries that swing a long way. Back in 2014, Virat has only managed to score 134 runs in 10 Test innings. Although he is considered to be a master in ODIs, Virat only managed to score 54 runs in 4 games showing how pathetic his record in England has been. Further, he was slated to get accustomed to the England conditions by playing county cricket this year. However, this didn’t turn into reality as an injury kept him away. However, Virat is in a completely different league going into this tour. He has scored runs all around the world and would like to do the same in England as well. Also, his responsibilities in this tour double up as he is the skipper of the side. 2. Joe Root Joe Root of England. Joe Root is one of the best batsmen currently around the world and has got a great technique and is highly talented. Root has got a great temperament and was one of the most successful players across the formats in the series against India back in 2014. He was the leading run scorer in Tests in 2014 in that tour where he scored 518 runs in 7 innings. He was equally good in ODIs and was the second highest scorer with 163 runs in 4 games. Just like Virat, Joe also notched his game up several levels since 2014 and will be the key for England this time as well. His captaincy prowess will come to a test in this stern series against India. 3. MS Dhoni MS Dhoni of India. (Photo Source: Twitter) A lot has changed from the last time MS Dhoni has toured England. He has retired from Test cricket, resigned as the captain of the Indian team, was away from his favourite IPL franchise, CSK for a while and lot more. There were also demands of his retirement as many felt that he was no more as effective a finisher as he was earlier. However, MS broke the shackles about all the doubts that were raised in the 11th edition of the IPL. He reminded the fans of the ‘Old Mahi’ and revived all the hopes among the fans. He is currently a part of the ODI and T20I squads and his previous experiences of playing in England will help the other players a great deal. MS scored 81 runs back in 2014 in two ODI innings. He scored 27 runs in the only T20I game that was played. In Test, he was the 4th leading run scorer from both the sides with 349 runs. However, he doesn’t play the longest format anymore. 4. He is known for his aggressive gameplay and has the ability to take the game away from the opposition within no time. Further, given the good form he is in, he was also picked in the Test squad against Pakistan. Now that Buttler is playing all the three formats of the game, he will pose a huge threat to India. Buttler was fabulous in the recently concluded IPL. He continues to impress with his heroics with the bat and will be a great challenge for the Indian bowlers. In 4 ODIs back in 2014 against India, Buttler scored 104 runs. 5. Bhuvneshwar Kumar Bhuvneshwar Kumar of India. (photo Source: Twitter) Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the finest exponents of swing bowling in India. He has the ability to swing the ball both the ways and bowls at a great pace as well. Bhuvi has emerged as one of the most crucial bowlers in the Indian bowling lineup. Back in 2014, he wasn’t the quickest of bowlers and hence couldn’t make the best of the ability to swing the ball. But still, he ended up as the leading wicket-taker for India in Tests with 19 wickets. He also picked 5 wickets in 4 ODIs back then. With added pace to his armour, Bhuvi could end up being a lot more brutal in this tour. Further, the experience from the last tours will come in handy. The 28-year-old has had a decent break before the tour and has 63 wickets to his name in 21 Tests so far.
