Flashback: When Rohit Sharma snapped at an onlooker during practice

At a point of time when the entire nation is dissecting the recent defeats that the Indian Cricket team has had to face in the last few weeks, hilarious memes and trolls have become the flavour of the season. Recently, Virat Kohli drew ire from fans and critics alike when he snapped at a journalist in a post-match press conference. Following this incident, an old video footage of Rohit Sharma getting irritated with an onlooker during practice has emerged on social media.

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli became the butt of jokes after he was caught swearing on the stump mic while he was batting with Murali Vijay. But that isn’t the first time some Indian cricketer was found using expletives publicly. With the emergence of an old video via Scoop Whoop that has gone viral, it appears that star batsman, Rohit Sharma and Indian pacer, Praveen Kumar had been there and done that way back in 2011.

What irked Rohit Sharma and Praveen Kumar

The incident occurred during the ODI series of the India tour of England, 2011. Rohit Sharma had been practising in the nets in full throttle, with his helmet and pads on, when some onlooker standing by the nets chose to direct some unfavourable comments towards the batsman. Visibly irked, Sharma can be seen in the video, confronting the man on the other side of the nets and even threatening to bash a bat on his head. Pacer, Praveen Kumar can also be seen in the footage trying to intervene in the beginning, but eventually getting worked up and hurling the choicest of expletives at the onlooker.
