Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi doesn’t need any introductions when it comes to cricket. He posses the ability to hit big sixes at will. The 37-year old has 351 sixes to his name in ODI cricket. From scoring the fastest hundred on his debut game to taking strong bowling packs apart during the fag end of his career, Afridi knew just one way of playing, and that is ‘Boom Boom’.
And therefore it didn’t surprise viewers when the explosive batsman smashed Australia’s former wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist for biggies. Gilchrist, who is an example of power-hitting at the top, received a dose of his own medicine on a fine day.

During a double-wicket tournament way back in 1998, Afridi hit two sixes off Gilchrist’s bowling. A cricket fan shared the clip on Twitter. Gilchrist later re-tweeted the video with a caption “Where’s the respect @SAfridiOfficial ??? Lucky I hadn’t developed my doosra by then!! @damienmartyn your thoughts please.”
Gilly’s team-mate Damien Martyn took a dig at him by tweeting “I thought it was an amazing piece of bowling.. @SAfridiOfficial just got lucky ” But the icing on the cake came from none other than the man himself Afridi, as he tweeted “Sorry…but I was just doing what I do, guys! @gilly381.
A fun-loving person, Afridi always enjoy having a hit around the park. He seldom held himself back and was always seen expressing himself against every opponent, no matter how the conditions were or how far were the ropes from the 22-yards. In the process, one of the most swashbuckling cricketers entertained his fans throughout his career. There have been instances when spectators left the stadium as soon as their beloved Afridi got dismissed. The cricketer has hanged up his boots bit the love and support keep pouring in.
