The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have won two out of their three matches in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, Virat Kohli, their captain, hasn’t had the greatest of times from the personal point of view. In three matches, the 31-year-old only has 18 runs at a rather dismal average of six, though he has been reasonable enough as the skipper.
On Tuesday, September 28, Virat strained even on a decent batting strip in Dubai. He couldn’t get the ball away and could manage only three runs off 11 balls before Rahul Chahar got rid of him. His team went on to win the game in the Super Over after Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard’s blitzkrieg threatened to take the match away from them in the death overs.
Zinta backs Virat Kohli
Virat, nevertheless, came out to bat in the one-over eliminator and this time around, he did a decent job. The right-handed batter also smashed Jasprit Bumrah through the on-side for a boundary, hitting the winning runs. In the meantime, Preity Zinta, the co-owner of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), was awestruck with the game between the Challengers and Mumbai Indians (MI).
She was also heartbroken after Ishan Kishan’s valiant 58-ball 99 went in vain. It was Kishan’s partnership with Pollard that kept the Mumbai-based team in the game. Moreover, Zinta reckoned that Kohli will come back after a series of low scores.
She took to Twitter and wrote, “OMG! Another thriller another #SuperOver. Both teams played so WELL. My heart goes out to #IshanKishan Hard Luck #Mumbai Congrats #RCB As for #Virat critics – the last one ball 4 won RCB the game Form is temporary Class is Permanent so chill out. #RCBvMI #Ipl2020 #Dream11IPL.”

A few days ago, Zinta was at the receiving end after KXIP lost to the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Super Over. Mayank Agarwal scored 89 runs and single-handedly tried to take KXIP over the line, but he couldn’t. Zinta was also irked by the fact that the on-field umpires gave Chris Jordan a short-run, when replays showed that Jordan’s bat was well inside the crease.
