Former India pacer S Sreesanth is all set to feature in a dance-oriented Bollywood movie named  ‘Item Number One’, with Paalooran as the director. Apart from being an actor in the film, he will also be singing one of the tracks of the film. The recording for the concerned track has already begun in Kochi, under the guidance of music director Sajeev Mangalath.

Sreesanth has already been a part of dance reality shows like Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena and Jhalak Dikhlaa Ja in the past. However, it will be his debut stint as a singer in any of the films. The former pacer thanked the director and the people in Kerala for supporting him. He further went on to say that he will give his all to do well in the film line as well. Sreesanth stressed on the fact that he can do much better than the rest sportspersons, who have taken up an acting role after their retirement.

“I am really honored and thanks to NNG films and especially Paalooran, the director and the Sajeev, the music director. This is my first Hindi project in which I will be singing a song and dancing. I am really grateful that the directors as well as all the people in Kerala are really supporting me, especially after my retirement. I am not from an artistic family, this is not my career but I will be giving 100 per cent in this profession. As a sports person, with all respect to other cricketers and sportspersons who have done acting, I believe I can do much much better,” said Sreesanth according to The Print.

I have been approached for the commentary role: Sreesanth

Talking about his role in the movie, Sreesanth stated that the people have seen me dancing on the reality shows, but the movie will be a blend of dance and comedy, with an interesting climax. He is quite excited, and thinks that it’s a challenging role for him.

“I am playing a good character in the movie. People have seen me dancing on reality shows but this is a dance-oriented comedy movie. It’s got suspense in the end and a great climax. I am really looking forward. I have never danced even in my Tamil movie. This is why I am really excited. This is an interesting and challenging role for me,” said the former pacer.

In March 2022, Sreesanth announced his retirement from all forms of domestic cricket. He featured for the Kerala state team in Ranji Trophy 2022 as well. In the end of the interview, he revealed that he has been contacted for the commentary role as well after the retirement. The former pacer further added that he will do commentary, play in the franchise leagues, and feature in movies as well.

“I have been approached for commentary as well. I will be doing that in between but my focus will be playing league matches and doing as many movies as possible. I just want to give my best in everything I do,” Sreesanth concluded.
