Former Victorian Cricketer to make debut for Adelaide Crows in Australian Rules Football
Keath joins the list of cricketers starred by Flintoff
Former Victorian batsman Alex Keath joins the list of cricketers who have changed their profession after he gave up his cricketing career to pursue a career in American Rules Football. Keath is all set to make his debut for the Adelaide Cows after making the decision of quitting cricket when he was just 17 years old. The 25-year old will be facing off against the Geelong this Friday.
The match at the Adelaide Oval will be a major endpoint for Keath which would symbolise his conflict between Cricket or Football. This is not the first time a cricketer has changed his sport in order to pursue a career in a different sport. The name of Andrew Flintoff is one name which heads the list of the former cricketers. Flintoff also had a notable career in Boxing.
Former Namibian bowler who featured with the new ball in the 2003 World Cup is the other name who shifted the direction of his career towards rugby and is perhaps the only sportsman to feature in two World Cups of different sports in a single year.

“He has earned it. It’s fantastic for Alex for the work he has done and obviously the transition from cricket to footy. He’s a real strong competitor. His attack on the ball and his ball use are really effective as well, He has got some speed and some competitive spirit which we like.” said the coach of Adelaide Striker Don Pyke according to The Guardian.
“We had Hughy Greenwood earlier in the year come in from an alternate sport background, and for Keathy to do what he has done is fantastic. You can’t get the smile off his face at the moment so it will be a big night for him.” concluded the enthusiastic coach in a recent interview.
