Australia pacer Scott Boland has been ruled out of the upcoming Quadrangular series for the Australia ‘A’ unit with a low-grade fracture to his right arm. The right-arm also happens to be Boland’s bowling arm. Boland was drafted into the Australia ‘A’ side after being left out of the squad for the Sri Lanka series, was expected to make a case for his selection in the future. However, the fracture now witnesses him out of the quadrangular series entirely. The series will involve a cluster of matches between India ‘A’, South Africa ‘A’, and the Cricket Australia’s National Performance Squad apart from the Australia ‘A’ team.

Kevin Sims, the physiotherapist of the Australia ‘A’ squad released a statement stating that the young Victorian pacer would indeed return to Melbourne for further operation on his troublesome arm and for rehabilitation as well.

“Scott Boland sustained a low-grade fracture of the right hand on the final day of the four-day match in Townsville,” Kevin Sims, the team physiotherapist, said. “Scott will return to Melbourne for further medical review.

“We will then decide whether he re-joins the squad for the back-end of the Quadrangular A Series for the one-day and four-day matches.”
