Franchises to go all out for the services of Colin Munro in the auctions of IPL 2018

With his all-round show during New Zealand’s tour to India, swashbuckling southpaw Colin Munro is expected to for a high price in the upcoming edition of the IPL auction for the 2018 season. Munro impressed one and all with his hitting abilities up front in the Kanpur ODI and Rajkot T20I.

Coupled with his deceptive bowling abilities, Munro may prove to be priceless when it comes to the IPL. Also, the fact that Munro is a seasoned campaigner when it comes to franchise cricket, due his experience in the Carribean Premier League (CPL) with the Trinbago Knight Riders and with the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL) might come in handy for the Kiwi.

“There are not many cricketers in modern day cricket who can strike the ball cleanly from the word go. He is fearless and Munro is known for his pyrotechnics,” quoted an IPL analyst as saying by TOI. “He will definitely be sought-after during the auction. I don’t know if he will be in the top five buys but he will certainly be a match-winner that every team wants.” further added the analyst.

Colin Munro was previously part of the Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders but did not get enough opportunities in the bygone seasons with only four appearances to his name. He was later released by KKR ahead of the 2017 season.

Munro already has a couple of T20I century to his name. The recent one came against the Indians during the 2nd T20I where he tore apart the star-studded bowling lineup of the home team with the help of his unbeaten innings of 109. His knock helped the Black Caps making a come back into the 3-match T20I series by equalizing the series at 1-1 as the decider would be played on Tuesday, 7th November.
