From inventing the game to getting defused, the downhill journey of English Cricket: There were days when English Cricket was at its prime and they had great players like Geoffrey Boycott, Ian Botham, Graham Gooch, and Sir Jack Hobbs in their ranks.

The team which represented England in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 never looked good enough to make it to the trophy. At best it was assumed that England will be knocked out from the tournament after the quarters and at worst they could have made it to the semis that too if the other team really messed it up.

England lost to Australia in their first game in this tournament on 14th Feb by a huge margin of 111 runs. No surprises there, as it was always on the cards.

Then from Melbourne, Poms flew down to Wellington to face the other co-hosts, England were bowled out for 123, thanks to Southee’s stunning Seven-for and then McCullum’s all out assault innings of 77 in only 25 balls left England bowler’s clueless.

England has by now only managed to register a single win only and that to against another minnow team Scotland.

England’s losing streak did not end there as then they were defeated by both Asian teams in the Pool Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Considering England’s performance nowadays it would have been an upset if they had managed to even beat Bangladesh.

Clearly, the English team has performed under par in this world cup. They failed miserably in all three departments of the game. Your batsmen’s can’t bat, your bowler’s can’t bowl and your fielder’s can’t field and then you think that you will do better in the world cup. To add to that, captaincy of Eoin Morgan was also very disappointing.

Even captain’s from the associate nations like Ireland’s captain William Porterfield has done well or else take example of Mashrafe Mortaza the Bangladesh skipper, he was limping before every over but he gave his hundred percent and finished his 10 over’s quota with good figures of 48-2.

It’s time now to axe the head coach Peter Moores as he and Kevin Pietersen can’t work together and it’s time to bring back KP, if English cricket really want to rise back.

And, finally Bangladeshi fans are rewarded with what they deserve. They are the most loyal fans and they were also fed up with Bangladeshi team winning hearts instead of matches, because “Sometimes truth is not good enough, Sometimes people deserve more, Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.”

English invented cricket, before Bangladesh was even born.
