Gagan Khoda and Jatin Paranjpe are likely to be omitted from the selection panel following the recommendations provided by the Lodha panel. The panel was appointed in September 2016 and was met by terrible responses by the general public in the aftermath of their appointments.

However, in recent times, the team of five members seems to be looking a bit too bulky as far as Justice RM Lodha is concerned and he would certainly like to chop that number down to three. The current five-member panel, headed by former cricketer MSK Prasad, includes Sarandeep Singh (North), Devang Gandhi (East), Gagan Khoda (Central) and Jatin Paranjpe (West).

This team put forth was a laughing stock given the fact that they have a combined experience of just 13 Test matches between them. However, despite all this, they were successfully able to put forth a side that was going to challenge for and also take up the number one spot in the rankings as well.

From the outset, it would seem as though Gagan Khoda and Jatin Paranjpe look like the ones who will get the ax as they are the ones who seemingly do not fall under the recommendations put forth by the Justice Lodha panel.

As per the recommendations made by the Justice Lodha committee, the selection committee is supposed to only consist of the three members apart from the fact that they should have all played at least the one Test match for India. Gagan Khoda has only played two ODIs for India while Paranjpe has four ODIs to his name.

The panel was appointed in spite of the fact that the court case with the Supreme Court was going on. Moreover, it is highly likely that the team comprising of Prasad, Sarandeep, and Devang Gandhi are the ones who pick the team for the upcoming ODI series against England.
