Gary Wilson, William Porterfield added to Ireland's T20 World Cup coaching staff

Cricket Ireland today confirmed two additional coaches have been added to the support staff of the Ireland Men’s T20 World Cup squad which is currently in hotel quarantine in Dubai.

North West Warriors head coach Gary Wilson has joined the squad, while Wilson’s Warriors assistant coach and current international William Porterfield will join the squad today.

Ryan Eagleson announced recently as the bowling coach for the T20 World Cup, has also today flown out to Dubai after successfully coaching the Ireland Under-19s Men’s side to World Cup qualification on Sunday in Almeria, Spain.

Each coach, like the playing squad, will undergo a six-day mandatory hotel quarantine upon arrival in Dubai ahead of the team’s preparation camp scheduled to begin on 1 October.

T20 World Cup – Round 1

• 18 October: Ireland v Netherlands (Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi; starts 10am GMT)
• 20 October: Ireland v Sri Lanka (Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi; starts 2pm GMT)
• 22 October: Ireland v Namibia (Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah; starts 10am GMT)

THE SQUAD

A preliminary 18-player squad was recently announced – this will be reduced to 15 for the T20 World Cup tournament, however, the three other players will still travel to the UAE as reserves.
