CBI court convicts Ram Rahim
The south paw backed the decision of the Special CBI court in Panchkula who recently sentenced self-proclaimed godman Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a rape trial. Two different women had complained about Gurmeet who was later given a term of 20 years for the heinous crime he committed almost two decades ago. The 50-year old pleaded and even wept before the judge for leniency but to no avail. Supporters of the Baba lined up outside the court and have created a ruckus which has led to the killings of 38 people in the last one week. Despite all the hue and cry, Gurmeet is set to be in jail till 2037.
Gambhir lauded the conviction but was quick in pointing out that now its turn for the 1,37,458 rape cases which are waiting to be resolved. It is always good to see the bigger picture and the 35-year old was absolutely correct in his statement.
Bravo to d women, CBI court&Justice Singh. Now, let's try 2 resolve over 1,37,458 pending rape trials (NCRB, 2015 data),they r our part too.

Gambhir’s interest in social problems is heartening to see. He is one who never minces his words and is completely honest with his thoughts, which is a rarity these days. India needs more celebrities to come out and fight for a cause which will inspire a lot of people to follow suit.
The 35-year old has represented India in 58 Tests, 147 ODIs and 37 T20s scoring 4154, 5238 and 932 runs respectively. He has managed to score 20 international centuries and 63 fifties in his career for India. The left-hander has been a part of two World Cup triumphs and was the highest scorer in both the finals for India.
