Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir’s father car has been stolen from his house at old Rajinder Nagar in New Delhi. His father owned a Toyota Fortuner and the theft happened around 3:30 am in the morning of Thursday, May 28. It was reported by the police. Going by a CCTV footage, it took only four to five minutes for the thief to move the car away from its place.

The face of the thief wasn’t clear in the footage and the robbers are yet to be identified. Deepak Gambhir, Gautam’s father, owned a Fortuner, having a number DL 1CKA 0034 and it was white in colour. Gambhir, who’s also a Member of Parliament (MP) from the East Delhi Constituency, hasn’t spoken about the matter just yet.

The car was parked outside Gautam Gambhir’s house

“We received information that a Fortuner car has been stolen from the house of MP Gautam Gambhir. Station House Officer (SHO) along with staff reached at his house and met his father to get the details of the car. A CCTV camera footage was also recovered,” the police was quoted as saying in the Indian Express.

A FIR has also been raised after the incident. “Yesterday at about 3.30 AM, the said car was parked in front of the house and in the morning it came to light that the car was stolen. Accordingly, a regular FIR is being registered,” a senior police officer mentioned.

Gambhir has been a pretty busy man over the past few days. He has been trying to lend his helping hands for the ones affected in the coronavirus pandemic. Recently, the Delhi-born donated his two year’s salary to the PM-Cares Fund, an initiative for the needy by Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also gave away 1,000 PPE kits to healthcare institutions in New Delhi. Apart from his time for the COVID fight, Gambhir has also been opining on various cricketing matters in the past few days. Recently, Shahid Afridi criticised Narendra Modi and India.

It was during his visit to the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. The words didn’t go down well with Gambhir, who expressed his sheer displeasure. Even earlier, the duo has been involved in verbal feuds.
